The best way to get involved is to get involved!
Darned thing to say, but it's TRUE! So many of us just sit there, THINKING about what ought to be done and/or WISHING one could do something about each one's pet project: humanitarian, selfcentered, business-oriented, or whatever else may be nagging at one's conscience at the moment.
Well. THINK no more! WISH no more! If you really wish to get involved in something, ANYTHING, here's your change. Just grab it NOW, while it stares you in the face. Here's some of the choices:
- Want to do things in your home, or to your home? Don't know where to start?
Try Better Homes & Gardens Home Improvement EncyclopediaIts nine sections cover: Home improvement basics, Plumbing, Landscape, House structure, Electrical & phone, Tool Dictionary, Decks, Yard structures and Project Calculators. THAT ought to keep you (or that other subject) busy for awhile!
- If there's not enough information for you anywhere you search, perhaps you need the information to COME to you! Try The Newsletter Library. Go search their index for over 11,000 free newsletters! (That's a lot of newsletters, a LOT of information!) Subjects? You name it! I'll bet you find what you may be looking for, and then some.
- Internet Adoption Center is a nonprofit adoption agency. Whether you want to adopt a child, or just learn about the subject, that's the site that will provide all the information you need. If you want to be adopted, though, and you are an adult, perhaps you better look elsewhere!
- There's a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people get involved in their community, including (but not limited to) Virtual Volunteering via the Internet. For the full details, visit Impact Online .
- Hard of hearing? Or know somebody who is? Deaf World Web bills itself as "the most comprehensive deaf-rrelated resource in the Internet".
- Have you heard about Men's Issues Page? Its hierarchical topical index explains: "of course it's hierarchical. It's a guy thing." Enough said, I guess.
- The Abortive & Reproductive Rights Action League hosts an interesting site with considerable links in both directions: Pro-Choice and Anti-Choice. Definitely a good starting point for information on the subject.
- We all wish that there were no need for this page. Unfortunately, there is, and plenty. The Sexual Assault Information Page views the subject from many perspectives, with help, counsel and links to related subjects.
- Online AA Recovery Resources is a collection of Alcoholics Anonymous information.
- Do you know any site that belongs in this list? the web address of the site and some info. I'll check it out and include it within a few days. Thank you for your time and trouble!
Bible Browser Basic Home Page may be just what you were looking for to get you started on that bible reading or research project.
- If your interest lean towards the culinary, perhaps you need to visit Cooking Measures and Conversion Calculator to get some help with measures, equivalences, conversions, calculations, and everything else that may be keeping you away from baking that perfect pie (or whatever!).
