Business & Career: Know Your Ruling Star!

Finding a job, pairing off with a mate, purchasing a home: these are all things that require hard work, if you want to do them right, and have them serve your purposes for a long time.

To find a JOB!

This webpage is here to make sure that you find a job. I have assembled some of the best job-hunting companies. Many of them will not charge you for placing your resume with them. Their fees are paid by the employer. Some will let you search their huge databases of job offers by job category and by specific locations.

If you need to prepare a resume, some companies will help you with it for a modest fee.

The resources to find a job are here! You will probably have to visit several websites for the companies listed here. Be sure to include this page among your favorites, to come back here after each visit.

Don't waste your time with the wrong job! Do your homework: research the job offers thoroughly. If you are really looking for a $90,000 job, be sure that you are not spending your time answering $40,000 ads. Learn to read between the lines of want ads. If the ad says No Experience Required and you have three years' experience, that's probably in your favor; if you have 15 years' experience, you are probably overqualified for the position. ABOVE ALL: Do not send your resume in reply to a $40,000 want ad simply because you know the company also has positions in the $90,000 range. The message that you may be transmitting to the prospective employer is unclear.

WorkTree.com Remember your need to be unique. Try to isolate one special quality in yourself: most likely, something that other people will say about you very often. (Pushy, go-getter, steadfast, early bird, by-the-rules person, a very long etcetera). Once you hit upon the quality, shop around for the best possible synonyms until you reach the right one. Then consider your impact statement: "I am frequently described as a person of principles and moral values. My character requires that I be loyal to my employer, reliable and trustworthy. I will bring these personal traits to my position within XYZ Company. "

There will be reinforcement of that statement if the company follows up with character reference requests. Consistence works in your favor.
