The following regulations apply to any person who rides a bicycle
in public roads in Puerto Rico:
You may not carry more passengers than the number of seats
available.
You may not carry any parcels larger than the length or the width of the bicycle or that prevent the driver from using at least one hand to hold the handlebar.
You may not ride a bicycle alongside any other bicycle.
You must ride along the right edge of the road.
You may not hold or hang on to any vehicles.
The bicycle must have a bell or other equipment capable of emitting a signal that may be heard from a distance of 100 feet.
You may not use sidewalks or pedestrian bridges while riding a bicycle.
At night, you must have a bright white light facing forward and a red reflecttor in the rear end of the bicycle.
The bicycle must have adequate brakes.
The driver must be sitting while riding the bicycle.
All passengers in the bicycle must wear approved protective helmets while riding in areas of high traffic.
