Corozal, Puerto Rico

Corozal is said to be the plantain capital of Puerto Rico. Located high in the mountains of central Puerto Rico, this town of 36,800 (2000 census) has two trademarks: plantains and volleyball.

The patron saint for Corozal is "La sagrada familia", celebrated on January 9.

Corozal is located some 30 minutes away from Toa Alta on PR Road 159.
