To be prepared in advance for the eventuality of an emergency is one
of the surest means to remain calm and in control of the situation if
and when an emergency ever arises.
In case of an emergency, DON’T PANIC. If you cannot secure immediate
help due to a language problem, go through your list of bilingual
acquaintances until you find one that may help with your particular
problem.

relationships outside Puerto Rico. Write down all numbers, including
those which you feel you have memorized. Include the names of
Spanish-speaking acquaintances, if you do not speak the language.
One of them may be useful if you do have an emergency and cannot
secure help due to language problems.
