Puerto Rico celebrates many holidays. Our close relationship with the United States of America requires that we observe some of their holidays, too. Government agencies are closed all day on holidays. Recent legislation allows business establishments to open normally on holidays. On Sundays, business establishments open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Business establishments located on certain tourist zones are exempted from some requirements of the closing laws.
