Humacao, Puerto Rico

Humacao is a city of 59,000 inhabitants (2000 census), located on the eastern coast of the island. One of its main features is the quality of its main roads. PR State Road 30 makes Humacao easily accessible from Juncos, Las Piedras and Caguas

Humacao is the nearest city to Palmas del Mar resort in nearby Yabucoa . It is connected in the north to Naguabo on PR State Road # 3.

Balneario de Humacao is a favorite public beach resort. The Humacao Natural Reserve is a bird refuge for over 90 species of birds. A little isle close to the Humacao shores is populated by unfriendly monkeys.

The patron saint for Humacao is "La Inmaculada Concepción de María", celebrated on December 8.

Casa de la Bondad, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established in 1994. It provides lodging, counseling, support, and referrals for legal services. Services are provided to women who are victims of domestic violence and their children.
