About Puerto Rico:

Lakes

Lakes

The lakes of Puerto Rico are all manmade. They have been built throughout time to create water reservoirs for the production of hydroelectric power, to provide adequate supplies of water for distribution to fill human and industrial needs, and for agricultural uses.

The largest and most important are Lago Carraizo, Lago Dos Bocas, Lago La Plata, Lago Guajataca, Lago Carite.

Although used occasionally for fishing and for water sports, those uses are not sponsored actively at most places.
