Daily Spanish newspapers include El Vocero®, El Nuevo
Día®, Primera Hora®
and one, The San Juan Star®, which publishes English and Spanish
versions. There are also two weekly newspapers and several weekly
regional newspapers. Weeklies are printed in Spanish with the
exception of Caribbean Business®, which is printed in English.
There are also a number of magazines in Spanish.
There are several free publications, many in English, written
especially for tourists and visitors. They are usually found at
hotels and other tourist stops. They provide general information
on Puerto Rico, city maps and lists of scheduled events in sports,
theater, arts and other categories.
There are also several weekly regional newspapers. La Estrella de Puerto Rico publishes two editions, one for the north and the other for western Puerto Rico. El Expresso de Puerto Ricco covers Bayamón and neighboring communities.
Several U.S. newspapers are available at certain locations throughout
the San Juan Metropolitan area and elsewhere, usually at a price
premium to compensate air freight charges to San Juan. These may
include the Wall Street Journal®, The New York Times®,
The Washington Post®,
Miami Herald®, USA Today® and others.
