AM and FM stations broadcast in Puerto Rico. There is a wide variety
of both, including some which transmit mostly in English.
An Emergency Broadcasting System is activated by the P.R. Civil
Defense in the event of natural disasters and others emergencies to
transmit official reports. The system utilizes most local TV and
radio stations.
Radio stations require licensing by the Federal Communications
Communication.
