Puerto Rico is surrounded by beautiful beaches and some rough currents, Some coastal sectors are just perfect to practice surfing: board surfind and wind surfing.

There are many fine websites dedicated almost exclusively to the subject of surfing in Puerto Rico. After reviewing a number of them I have compiled a list of the preferred surfing sites around the island.

February is said to be the best month for surfing. Newcomers to surfing and/or to the surfing areas mentioned above should be aware that strong currents and undercurrents at times present a real danger to surfers. Before surfing in waters unknown to you, be sure to ask the locals. A good source of information is usually the surf shops found in coastal towns.
