Vacation centers (centros vacacionales) are
government-operated resorts which provide adequate accommodations for families or friends at or near places of interest for both foreign and internal tourists. Compañía de Parques Nacionales de Puerto Rico, is the government agency responsible for the operation of the vacation centers described in the following paragraphs. Centro Vacacional Villas de Añasco, telephones (787) 826-1600 and (787) 826-1610, is located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean at PR Road #115, Km. 5.0, Barrio Caguabo, Añasco, Puerto Rico.
The resort includes 32 cottages sparsed around beautiful garden trails with mild, cool ocean breezes to make for a great tropical setting. The resort also includes a high-rise building with 120 villas with spectular views of the surroundings.
The apartments at both cottages and villas are equipped with refrigerator, stove, water heater and air conditioning in both bedrooms. Each apartment has a double bed in a bedroom and two double-decker bunker beds in another.
Facilities include a beach and two pools, one for kids andone for adults, which includes a ramp to allow handicapped access.There are basketball and beach volleyball courts. A passive park for children included slides and swings. There are lifeguards at the beach and pools throughout daytime hours. Security guards are on 24 /7.
For large gatherings, a gazebo holds around 60 people and a meeting room holds around 250. Parking is available , one car per cottage or villa.
The beaches around Añasco and neighboring Rincón are favorites for board surfers from all around the world who flock in this area for competitions or just to enjoy surfing . February is said to be the best month for board surfing in this area.

CentroVacacional de Maricao is surrounded by forest vegetation and nature very much alive with bird chirps, coquis, and night temperatures dropping to the fifties, Chimneys are provided in each room, although I personally doubt that many people would actually light them when temperatures are actually refreshingly cool.
There are 24 cottages, each with one bedroom furnished with a double bed and another room with two double-decker bunker beds in another. All cottages are furnished with refrigerator, stove and water heater.

Centro Vacacional de Boquerón, telephone (787) 851-1900, located at PR Road. #101, Poblado de Boquerón, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. Boquerón has become throughout the years a mecca for internal tourism and a favorite with many visitors to the island. The neighboring area is almost exclusively tourist-oriented, with artisans, inexpensive seafood items and some more sophiscated while still inexpensive restaurants featuring (what else?) fresh seafood, PuertoRican dishes and some international dishes.
Centro Vacacional de Boquerón is located inside Balneario de Boquerón, a government-operated public beach with ample parking facilities. This vacation center has 158 cottages and 42 villas. All suites have two bedroom and capacity for six persons. They all include refrigerator, stove, air conditioners or fans. Several suites have been specially adapted for the needs of handicapped guests.
Amenities include a game room with video arcade games and pool tables, basketball and tennis courts and a baseball park. Lifesavers are on duty throughout the day. Security guards patrol the area 24/7. There is a small shop and, of course, immediate access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico.
Centro Vacacional Punta Guilarte, telephone (787) 839-3565, located at PR Road #3, Km. 126, Arroyo, Puerto Rico. It is located inside Balneario Guilarte, a government-operated public beach. This center has 28 cottage and 32 villas. Each suite has two bedrooms and capacity for seven persons. They all include refrigerator, stove, water heaters, air conditioners or fans.
There are facilities for tent and trailer camping in the general area. The beach is excellent. Lifesavers are on duty throughout the day. Security guards patrol the area 24/7. Amenities include basketball and tennis courts.
Centro Vacacional Punta Santiago , telephone (787) 852-1660, located at PR Road #3, Km. 72.4, Barrio La Playa, Humacao, Puerto Rico. It is located inside Balneario Punta Santiago, a government-operated public beach.
This center has 36 cottages and 63 villas. Cottages include refrigerator, stove, water heater and ceiling fans. They have two bedrooms each and capacity for six persons. The villas also include air conditioning.
Amenities include pools for adults and children, tennis and basketball courts and a park with slides and swings. The beach is just steps away!
